Great Bear Business Corporation

The Great Bear Business Corporation (GBBC) is the sole shareholder of Great Bear Carbon. GBBC is an Indigenous-owned alliance of seven coastal First Nations. It was set up in 2009 to help protect and use the Great Bear Rainforest in a way that benefits both the environment and local communities. GBBC works on projects that support sustainable development, environmental care, and Reconciliation. Its goal is to bring revenue to the member Nations, helping with stewardship, community projects, and self-determination.

Shareholder First Nations

The Great Bear Business Corporation is made up of a coalition of Coastal First Nations dedicated to protecting their territories and fostering sustainable economic development. These First Nations have stewarded the Great Bear Rainforest for over 14,000 years.
